Rebecca has a diploma in Construction Engineering Technology – Management from George Brown College in Toronto and over twenty-five years of experience in institutional construction projects, many of them related to laboratories and health care. She has been involved in projects from investigation of site conditions through resolution of post-occupancy issues, with particular emphasis on construction contract administration and budget monitoring.
She started out doing site administration for an architect on a large hospital, and got hooked on the tangible results of her efforts. She has worked as a Project Coordinator with a general contractor, then with Facilities & Services at the University of Toronto. Ontario weather drove her west, to a similar role with Facilities Management at the University of Victoria.
Rebecca believes that developing simple guidelines for standard processes will allow creativity in other areas. She doesn't like making the same mistake twice - mistakes should be new and innovative.
Rebecca knits intermittently, gardens for food and exercise, and curls in the winter. She develops tasty gluten- and dairy-free recipes then completely fails to follow them.
