Hanno Dahmen

Architectural Designer

Hanno joined the firm in 2025, bringing a distinct international perspective and a multidisciplinary background to the firm. His academic journey spans from universities in both the Netherlands and Canada, having earned a Bachelor of Science in Spatial Planning and Design from the University of Groningen with and exchange program at the University of Calgary, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Urbanism, and Building Sciences from Delft University of Technology. Growing up in Amsterdam has given him a deep appreciation for human-oriented, walkable urban environments while also recognizing the multiple and sometimes conflicting goals among residents, stakeholders, and decision-makers.

Prior to his current role, Hanno gained valuable local experience working as an Architectural Designer at Cascadia Architects in Victoria. With a strong academic background in planning and architecture, combined with hands-on experience in both disciplines, he has developed a keen eye for design, a deep understanding of urban policy, and the ability to translate ideas into human-oriented spaces. His diverse skill set encompasses spatial planning, advanced design thinking, and digital workflows, such as AutoCAD, Adobe, Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit, and Vectorworks.

Beyond his professional and academic pursuits, Hanno’s drive and discipline are deeply rooted in his background as a former elite long-track speed skater, bringing a high level of dedication, precision, and feed-forward philosophy to the studio’s projects.
