Senior Technologist
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technologist to join our team and play a key role in the technical development and delivery of high-quality architectural projects.
Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Building Technology, or a related discipline;
- 8+ years of professional experience in architectural practice;
- Proven technical knowledge of building systems, materials, and envelope performance;
- Strong working knowledge of the BC Building Code, accessibility requirements, and municipal approvals processes
- Extensive experience preparing construction documents and coordinating with specifications
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, including BIM coordination, documentation, work-sharing, and model management workflows. Vectorworks experience considered an asset;
- Experience coordinating and integrating the work of multidisciplinary consultant teams through all phases of project delivery;
- Experience in wood-frame, steel, and concrete construction for institutional, or multi-residential construction; including construction field reviews;
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail;
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills;
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented, and proactive approach to problem solving.
Responsibilities
The Senior Technologist’s responsibilities may include:
- Leading the preparation and coordination of construction drawings, technical details, and documentation packages;
- Developing and maintaining BIM models and drawing standards;
- Coordinating architectural documentation with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and specialty consultants;
- Supporting design teams through technical problem-solving and constructability reviews;
- Conducting building code analysis and technical research;
- Participating in field reviews, site inspections, and construction administration;
- Reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, supplemental instructions, and construction submittals;
- Supporting project QA/QC, drawing reviews, technical coordination, and documentation standards across project phases;
- Mentoring junior technical staff and contributing to office standards, templates, and best practices.
Salary
Commensurate with demonstrated experience.
Range: $80,000 – $100,000
